Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic
Job Description:
Responsible for the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of the company's diverse fleet of light and heavy vehicles. This includes conducting comprehensive mechanical work on engines, transmissions, steering systems, and other critical components, as well as performing routine scheduled maintenance services. The technician ensures the safe and reliable operation of all vehicles, adhering to safety protocols and utilizing diagnostic software to maintain optimal fleet performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Detecting and diagnosing vehicle faults/ using diagnostic software
- Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other components
- Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components, and referring to service manuals as needed
- Performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, changing fuel filters, air filters
- Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance
- Inspect vehicles and issue safety inspection certificates
Safety
- Work and engaged in all safe work practices involved in General Plant Maintenance activities
- Participate in site training programs to achieve an accident-free workplace (EPTWS, JSA, LMRA, O&I, Procedures and Processes)
Qualification Requirements and Skills
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the role
- Current driver’s license
- Experience with diagnostic software an advantage
- Experience with light and heavy vehicles
- Good communications skills and positive attitude towards work
- Adaptable to corporate culture and work environment
